How can you help those who are struggling?

The Embrace The Struggle community is all about helping those who are struggling. Chances are good that you have either come out of a major struggle and are better for it, or you are still going through one and you are trying to figure out how to find joy in the midst of the storm. This community is designed to bring both groups of people together so that you can lift each other up.

Feel free to comment on where you are in your own life, and how you can help others, or what help you may need. Chances are good somebody here will have an idea, some hope, and some encouragement that will make a difference to you.

I would like to point out three people in the community that offer hope to the struggling.

Tom Brewster with Heritage Keepers knows a lot about elder care and provides a faith based service that helps the elderly and their primary care givers in their homes.

Dan Snell of Blended Family Today Radio has a powerful ministry that works with blended families. If you know someone who is struggling with a blended family, you need to check out their internet radio show.

Chris Patterson of Interchanges (the group that designed this site and created the Embrace the Struggle movie) helps companies that are struggling to get out life changing messages.

So, just let us know how you can help, and what help you need!

This December 3rd in Greenville SC, Linking the Upstate is hosting our first Annual "GIVE BACK" event. So many non-profit organizations (cancer awareness, children's homes, operation christmas child, abused woman, etc) are struggling because of the economic decline. We are trying to offset that here in the Upstate of South Carolina. Linking the Upstate is a Personal and Professional Betterment Community Development Organization that was started in April '09 to get people off the couch and out networking and being pro-active "because every job is temporary". Well, this Christmas we are leaving our business cards at home and coming to learn about the non-profits and promote them while also raising funds from the community. This is just one way of giving back. We have the local press involved and have twisted arms for sponsorships for venue, drinks, food and other necessities to make the event a success. What a positive message this will be for local organizations to see professionals putting others first even when they are struggling in their own lives. www.linkingtheupstate.org. If you have a non-profit you would like to see presented at this event, please let us know. info@linkingtheupstate.com
I myself am trying to be as transparent I can to those around me. That's something that I've learned from reading some of Zig Ziglar's books. I myself am still struggling in life but I think life will always give us a struggle whether it be in relationships, finances, or business. In this day and age my story is very similar to many others. I'm a single father trying to have a successful career in real estate. My kids' mother is not active in their life. I try to do my best to provide a well balanced life for my kids. That can mean overcompensating in certain areas and sacrificing too much in others. If my life can serve as an inspiration to others, I don't mind sharing it via twitter and facebook.
Thanks Mario, glad you are here. Being a single parent without help from the spouse is very difficult.
