Thank you Julie! That is an excellent idea. I was able to get my mom to read "God's Way Is Still the Best Way" so when I talk to her about that story she will know what I"m talking about. That's an excellent idea!!

You are absolutely on the right track of encouragement for your mother. Learning to see how you can still contribute and make a difference when you fell useless can be a huge struggle. But Dad's take on finding new ways to make a difference in…

Thank you Julie it means the world to hear that. I will have to share this with my mom because it was a breakthrough for me to get her to see things in a different light. She's happy to share with me where she has gotten in your dad's book…

Hi! I originally bought Embrace the Struggle for my mom who has been sick for quite some time now (off and on and just can't seem to get back to herself). She's been in and out of the hospital for many different things all related to her…

Hi Kelly,
In God's Way is Still the Best Way I love the story of the man who was confined to be in the old folks home who told the telephone solicitors he would listen to their whole sales talk if they would agree to listen to his...and then he'd share Christ with them. All he could do from his bed was reduce the future occupancy of hell and increase the occupancy of heaven. That is so HUGE! Your mom can still make such a big difference in the lives of others. And I know from personal experience that you are blessed to have the opportunity to give back to her and honor her. You are a good daughter!

You are absolutely on the right track of encouragement for your mother. Learning to see how you can still contribute and make a difference when you fell useless can be a huge struggle. But Dad's take on finding new ways to make a difference in the lives of others is a great example of going as far as you can see and then going further. One deed at a time your mother can pull herself out of her self and get back into thinking "can' thoughts instead of "can't" thoughts. Might I suggest that intercessory prayer is the MOST NEEDED thing in this world and even if she is flat on her back she can do that for others. Please ask her to put Dad and Mom at the top of her list, if she is willing. Then I'd appreciate it if she could pray for me and my husband Jim and our children and grandchildren. Dad has kept a list of people to pray for so he doesn't forget anyone who has asked for prayer. I found many of the lists when we were packing them to move to their new home. If she will start there I know she'll begin to feel more hopeful soon.

Hi Kelly,
Thank you for taking the time to write. I'll be praying for you and your mother. Long term illness has special challenges for sure and your mother is absolutely right about the Bible being the best resource for help, strength, encouragement, comfort and love. All of Dad's principles are based on Scripture and we hope the encouragement he gives will lead people to the true source of strength, Jesus Christ. When you know Him, even in the darkest hours, there is hope for the future.
Because He lives!

Julie
